Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21, 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Originally from Worthington Ohio she quit high school to move to Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. Her first role came to her as Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. The TV film Murder in Greenwich where she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actress in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace wanted to focus on film following her role as Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. In addition, she appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is an updated version of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role as Shannon in two more episodes of Lost including the series finale. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season which ran from 2013 until the year 2014. The character she plays is Faith as an admirer and muse to the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family, she is the daughter and elder sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was a young teenager with small parts in a few films directed from her father. Also, she worked alongside her brother in the 2001 famous film Donnie Darko. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her lead performances in Secretary (2002 an erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) Both that earned the actress Golden Globe Award nods. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. In 2009, she was recognized for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom in Crazy Heart. The roles she played in subsequent films include Nanny McPhee, the Big Bang and Hysteria. In addition, she appeared as a Secret Service Agent in White House Down the action thriller that was released in 2013. She also played a musician in Frank (2014) and her role as the main character on The Kindergarten Teacher, a film that debuted in the year 2018. Gyllenhaal wrote and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for The Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
